In software engineering, quality encompasses both conformance to requirements and the ability of the product to fulfill user needs effectively and reliably.
Requirement satisfaction: Software should meet documented specifications.
User value: Quality also depends on customer expectations.
Continuous improvement: Quality is maintained throughout the lifecycle.
Real World Example
A regulated product team is preparing a release where Quality appears in reviews, test design conversations, or defect triage rather than as an isolated glossary word.
The risk is that the team treats Quality as interchangeable with nearby ISTQB terms. That makes test scope blurry and can lead to weak evidence for the release decision.
