What is Functional Safety?

Functional safety ensures that systems detect faults and respond safely to prevent harm to people, property, or the environment.

Hazard prevention: Safety mechanisms reduce the consequences of failures.

Standards: Often governed by standards such as ISO 26262 or IEC 61508.

Testing focus: Safety functions must be verified under normal and fault conditions.
