Value-based Quality
Value-based quality is a quality perspective that defines quality according to the value a product provides relative to its cost, benefits, and business objectives.

A product is considered high quality when it delivers appropriate value to customers and stakeholders for the resources invested.

Real World Example
A startup builds a project management tool with over 100 configurable settings and heavy engineering investment across all of them.
Customers churn quickly, complaining the tool is expensive for what they actually use — only about ten of the hundred features ever get touched, yet the price reflects the cost of building all of them.
Applying a Value-based quality view, the team measures quality not just as "does it work correctly" but as the ratio between what customers pay and the value they actually receive, surveying customers on perceived value versus price and redirecting test and development investment toward the ten heavily used features instead of spreading effort evenly across all hundred.
Customer satisfaction with "value for money" rises even though the product objectively does less, because Value-based quality is measured by value received relative to cost, not by feature count or defect count alone.
