A passed test indicates that the tested behavior met the specified expectations under the executed conditions, although it does not prove the absence of defects elsewhere.
Expected behavior: Actual and expected results match.
Execution status: Indicates successful completion of a test.
Scope: A passed test validates only the executed scenario.
Real World Example
A regulated product team is preparing a release where Passed appears in reviews, test design conversations, or defect triage rather than as an isolated glossary word.
The risk is that the team treats Passed as interchangeable with nearby ISTQB terms. That makes test scope blurry and can lead to weak evidence for the release decision.
