What is Dynamic Testing?

Unlike static testing, dynamic testing requires the software to run. Testers execute test cases, compare expected and actual results, and identify failures caused by defects.

Execution-based: Software must be running to perform dynamic testing.

Failure detection: Failures become visible during execution.

Broad application: Dynamic testing is performed at every test level.

Real World Example

A regulated product team is preparing a release where Dynamic testing appears in reviews, test design conversations, or defect triage rather than as an isolated glossary word.
