Beta Testing
Beta testing is a type of acceptance testing performed by selected external users in a real or realistic environment before the software is officially released.

Beta testing allows real users to evaluate the software under normal operating conditions and provide feedback about usability, reliability, and overall quality before public release.
Real-world environment: Testing occurs outside the development organization.
User feedback: Beta users identify issues that internal teams may have overlooked.
Relationship to alpha testing: Beta testing usually follows successful alpha testing.
Real World Example
A regulated product team is preparing a release where Beta testing appears in reviews, test design conversations, or defect triage rather than as an isolated glossary word.
The risk is that the team treats Beta testing as interchangeable with nearby ISTQB terms. That makes test scope blurry and can lead to weak evidence for the release decision.
